Description
This challenging trek takes you deep into the heart of Sapa’s highlands, where you’ll experience the beautiful landscapes of Muong Hoa Valley and Halien National Park. Along the way, you’ll meet diverse ethnic communities—including the Black Hmong, Tay, Xa Pho, and Red Dao—each with unique traditions, customs, and ways of life. Get a glimpse into the daily life of the Black Hmong and Tay people, when you stay at the local homestay and can engage with your hosts.

Trek 50 km through Sapa’s most stunning landscapes, and enjoy breathtaking mountains, valleys, and rice terraces
Stay in two different local homestays and experience authentic ethnic culture
Meet the Hmong, Tay, Xa Pho, and Red Dao minority people, and learn about their traditions

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Sapa or meet you at our office at 9 am.
Day 1: Sapa – Sa Seng – Hang Da – Hau Thao – Giang Ta Chai - 16 km
Depart from Sapa town by car and transfer to the trekking starting point
Hike uphill through the Dan Thang mountain range until you reach Hang Da village (1,800m), where you will enjoy a picnic lunch and explore the village
Continue the trek to Hau Thao village, where you can get a glimpse of the daily life of the Black Hmong people
Trek downhill to Giang Ta Chai village, where you'll stay in a traditional Black Hmong homestay
Enjoy the evening with your hosts and a home-cooked dinner
Day 2: Giang Ta Chai – Ban Ho – Thanh Phu - 20 km
Wake up early, have breakfast and enjoy the peaceful life in the village
Trek to Ban Ho village, home of the Tay people. Here you will have lunch at a local restaurant, and enjoy the view of the traditional houses that are built on stilts
Continue trekking to Thanh Phu village, passing bamboo forests, rice paddies, and rivers
Arrive at a Tay minority homestay, relax, and enjoy a traditional dinner by the fire
Day 3: Thanh Phu – My Son – Nam Toong – Ban Ho – Sapa - 14 km
Enjoy breakfast in the morning
Trek to My Son village to meet the Xa Pho people, one of Sapa’s smallest ethnic groups
Follow a buffalo trail through rice terraces, taking in views of Halien National Park
Continue to Nam Toong village, home of the Red Dao minority. Here you will enjoy a picnic lunch
Finish the last part of the trek towards Ban Ho village
Transfer back to Sapa town by car

Day 1: Sapa – Ma Tra – Ta Phin - 14 km
Trek with a scenic walk from Sapa through rolling rice terraces to the Hmong village of Ma Tra
On the way to your destination you will enjoy a scenic lunch
Ta Phin, a Red Dao village where you will meet your homestay hosts.
Enjoy a warm welcome, a traditional dinner, and a relaxing herbal bath before settling in for the night.
Day 2: Ta Phin – Phin Ho – Lu Khau – Suoi Thau - 17 km
Have a breakfast prepared by your hosts so you’re ready to conitnue the trek
Walk through remote mountain trails, valleys, and forests to Phin Ho village, known for its stunning views over Ban Khoang valley.
Have lunch with a local family before continuing to Lu Khau village, home to the Red Dao and Blue Hmong.
Visit a salmon farm before arriving at Suoi Thau for another homestay experience, where you can help prepare dinner and learn more about Red Dao traditions.
Day 3: Suoi Thau – Gia Thau – Kim Ngan – Ta Giang Phinh – Sapa - 12 km
After breakfast, explore the daily life of the Red Dao in Suoi Thau.
Continue through terraced rice fields to Gia Thau and Kim Ngan villages, stopping for a picnic lunch with a local family.
The final part of the trek takes you to Ta Giang Phinh, where you will visit a Blue Hmong home to learn about their customs.
A car will take you back to Sapa, stopping for photos at Cold Waterfall and Mount Fansipan Cable Car station.
